Peter Matthiessen is twice National Book Award winning Amrican author. He won the prizes for Shadow Country and The Snow Leopard. He often deals with ecological issues in his writing. He is also one of the founding members of Paris Review; some others were George Plimpton, Harold L. Humes, Thomas Guinzburg, and Donald Hall. He is one of the most important writer in United States today.
