Yasunari Kawabata

Yasunari Kawabata (川端 康成) was a Nobel Prize winning Japanese author. According to Nobel Prize website he won the award "for his narrative mastery, which with great sensibility expresses the essence of the Japanese mind". He was the first Japanese writer to receive Nobel Prize.

He was a part of ShinKankakuha (新感覚派).

In 1972 he committed sucide.
