Synopsis of Falconer

Falconer is a 1977 by John Cheever. It is about a man named Farragut, who is serving time at Falconer Prison for killing his brother. He is initially overwhelmed by the circumstance and struggles to keep himself composed of humanity. He then start having an affair with a fellow prisoner and although it is yet another struggle, it does awaken hope of humanity in Farragut again. The book was on of the TIME 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005.
