Paco's Story was a 1987 National Book Award for Fiction winning novel by Larry Heinemann. The selection was somewhat considered contraversial because Toni Morrison's Belovedwas also the finalist. It is a story of a young solder who was sole survivor of a battle in Vietnam war.
