Paris Trout is a 1988 National Book Award for Fiction winning novel by Pete Dexter. "Paris Trout" is the name of the storekeeper from small Georgia town who was accused of shooting a young black girl. The novel is a tremendous portrayal of racial tension between different racial societies.
