Synopsis of Sophie's choice

Sophie's Choice is a 1979 novel by William Styron. It won the National Book Award for Fiction in 1980. It is a story of an aspiring Southern writer, who befriends the Jewish Nathan Landau and his beautiful lover Sophie, a Polish (but non-Jewish) survivor of the Nazi concentration camps. It was made into a successful movie of the same name.

Book was on #96 on of Modern Library's 100 Best Novels.
