The Future is Ours, Comrade : Conversaions with the Russians (1960) is Jerzy Kosinski's first book. It was pseudonymously published under name Joseph Novak, and is a nonfiction account of Russia in the postwar years. Kosinski will publish one more book under Joseph Novak, No Third Path (1963). They both predate Kosinski's first novel, The Painted Bird (1965).
